INTRODUCTION

The Community Challenge Engagement Toolkit provides information on how to implement a range of civic engagement processes that may be applied to small, informal groups; to larger, more formal systems; and everything in between. While each tool has its own advantages and limitations, a number of these tools have proven useful for equipping citizens; for teaching formal leaders how to participate/navigate community processes; for engaging youth; and for facilitating aspirational conversations about the vision and values of this community.  The intention is that the Toolkit will lead a dynamic life, as specific tools are added, modified and expanded based on local practice.
