The Community Challenge is an initiative dedicated to building a better community where citizens – from youth to older adults - regularly organize to bring about the change they desire; where leaders value and incorporate civic engagement as a regular component to key decision making processes related to public agenda issues; and where area non-profits have the capacity to provide a sustain-able civic engagement infrastructure to support ongoing civic engagement

The four core partners to the Community Challenge are the University of Michigan-Flint offering Resource Connection, Skill Development, and Civic Engagement workshops through the University’s Amazing U programs; the Community Foundation of Greater Flint serves as the Host Agency for the Community Challenge, providing overall administrative support of the initiative; the Resource Center offers leadership and civic engagement trainings to youth and adults in the community; and The Flint Club offering a single point of contact to connect with community engagement tools and the people that can support your community engagement work.

Funding for this initiative is provided by the
Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Ruth Mott Foundation, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, with additional funding provided by The Bishop Trust, The Whiting Foundation, and additional CFGF donors.
